Cosmetic Nose (Rhinoplasty)
This 23-year-old female disliked the appearance of her nose. She felt that her nose was excessively large and misshapen compared to her face. Her before photos show a very large dorsal hump, a significant nasal deviation and excessive projection. A cosmetic rhinoplasty was performed. This included reshaping the nasal bones (i.e. osteotomies) to create a more refined profile and straighten the nose. In addition, the nasal cartilage was reconfigured to support the nasal tip. During this particular procedure, a small section of the upper jawbone (i.e. maxilla) was reduced in size. This successfully allowed her chin to match her nose and lip without the need for a chin implant. Her postoperative photo is shown at 1 year.
